Welcome to Wild Thickets, a gentle substack which explores the poetics of rewilding through small everyday acts.

It all started when Dr Kitkat wished to gain inspiration
by asking their favourite makers & thinkers around the world to send them a postcard,
once a season, in  kisetsukan style 季節感, which asked a simple question:

How are you rewilding?

From there, it came alive across oceans, cities and wood wide webs, and now carries a spirit all its own.

By rewilding, we are concerned not only with the regeneration of ecosystems, but also our own human selves. We look to those messy spaces of interspecies connection that lie somewhere in between nature and culture in a more-than-human world, which George Monbiot refers to as “the rewilding of our own lives” and adrienne maree brown as “restoring our rhythm”.

These tales do not view wilderness as a mythical place where nature is separate from everything else. We've been there before, and we know all too well where it leads. Instead, we look to spaces of wildish repair, healing  and celebration, where multispecies webs are gathering forces to regenerate worlds.

Across these terrains, an archive is emerging. Subscribe for free to the substack here. 
